I have always LOVED science. However, since starting high school, I’ve become increasingly aware of the lack of gender equity in STEM. As a child, having female mentors to look up to helped tremendously in giving me the confidence to pursue science and math. I want to provide similar resources for elementary school girls. With the help of my chemistry teacher and fellow STEM-driven female students, STEM GEM teaches fun labs at elementary schools, both instilling a love for science in kids and showing elementary students (of all genders) that women have a place in STEM.

As a female scientist and educator, I believe it is my responsibility to counter STEM access disparities. I proudly support these bright women, founders of STEM GEM. Diversity makes science better!
